United States of America

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), requires that 37 different products and systems be approved by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL), refer to OSHA website for complete list of products – https://www.osha.gov/dts/otpca/nrtl/prodcatg.html. Additionally, authorities having jurisdiction (or local electrical inspectors), may require a product to have an NRTL mark when its installed in a facility requiring an electrical inspection (even though OSHA may not require it). Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory is a third party testing lab recognized for a specific scope by OSHA, with necessary credentials and qualifications to perform product safety testing.
